Calatrava man yields ‘shabu’

A 25-year-old man was arrested following a drug buy-bust operation around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, at Carbajosa Street in Barangay Suba, Calatrava, Negros Occidental.

Police Major Roberto Indiape, Jr., acting chief of the Calatrava Police Station, identified the suspect as Gerald Jimenez alias “Palot,” a resident of Sitio Punong in the town’s Barangay Calampisawan.

Police confiscated one small and two elongated sachets of suspected shabu valued at around P4,352; P500 in buy-bust money; and P600 cash believed to be proceeds from illegal drug transactions.

The suspect was detained at the Calatrava Police Station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002./WDJ
