A 34-year-old Omani national was found dead at the Bredco Port area, part of Barangay 8 in Bacolod City, yesterday morning.

Police identified the fatality as Ahmed Haj, a native of Oman and a resident of Regent Pearl Homes Subdivision in the city’s Barangay Alijis.

Based on initial investigation of the Police Station 2, the victim was found lifeless by 44-year-old Manuel Panganibanan, who immediately contacted police.

Haj was later positively identified by his brother-in-law, Joseph Ballesteros. According to Ballesteros they have been trying to contact Haj via his mobile phone, however, the victim failed to answer.

They only discovered that Haj was already dead when they heard his exact description while listening over the radio.

The victim sustained one gunshot wound on the left chest with an exit wound to the upper back.
