A man believed to be a victim of summary execution was found dead yesterday morning at a sugarcane plantation at Hacienda Rojas, Barangay Blumentritt in Negros Occidental’s Murcia town.

Police identified the victim as 31-year-old Archie Aguirre, a resident of Crossing Cambaug in the province’s Hinigaran town.

Police Captain Jerald Muya, Murcia police chief, said Aguirre sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his head and body.

Police investigators recovered eight empty .22 caliber shells and slugs at the crime scene.

Initial probe by police showed that the victim was shot inside the sugarcane plantation which is far from the residents’ houses in the area.

Muya said they identified the victim based on the driver’s license recovered on the remains.

Officers of the Murcia Police Station are currently probing the incident./DGB, WDJ
