A job hire of the Iloilo City government was shot to death by unidentified motorcycle-riding gunmen on Friday night, April 23, at Zone 5, Barangay San Juan in the city’s Molo district.
The 42-year-old Glenn Peremne, a resident of Barangay Calaparan, Arevalo district and a job hire assigned at the Iloilo Fish Port Complex as a safety and health officer, died of four gunshot wounds on the body, police said.
Molo Police Station chief Major Marlyn Roquero said Peremne was riding his motorcycle on his way home from work when the shooting incident happened around 9:05 p.m.
Roquero said they already have three persons of interest.
“We have already the names of three persons, but we could not yet mention because we are still conducting our investigation. We believe that work-related was the motive behind the killing,” the police chief said.
The police had already secured the closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera footage from the area where the suspects passed after the incident.
“We need to enhance the CCTV footage to know the plate number of the motorcycle they used and their facial identity,” Roquero said.
On the other hand, Iloilo City Police Office director Colonel Uldarico Garbanzos sent augmentation personnel to the Molo Police Station to help with the investigation./WDJ
