A social media poser was arrested in an entrapment operation at Crossing Gaston, Barangay Punta Mesa in Negros Occidental’s Manapla town on Tuesday night.

Police identified the arrested as 27-year-old Alvin Amandog, a resident of Hacienda Bayabas in the town’s Barangay Tortosa.

Police Major Joevito Bose, officer-in-charge of the Manapla Municipal Police Station, said Amandog’s modus was to pose as a beautiful woman on social media. He will then seduce his victims and lure them for a meet-up after which he robs them at gunpoint.

A search of the suspect revealed two sachets of suspected shabu, two live .38 caliber bullets and one empty .38 caliber shell.

Cops also recovered a mobile phone and a sling bag which they believe were stolen by the victim.

Amandog is facing charges of robbery and illegal possession of ammunition. He is detained at the Manapla Municipal Police Station.

Meanwhile, Police Colonel Romy Palgue, director of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, warned social media users to be cautious when meeting up with suspicious persons acquainted online./DGB, WDJ
