Two drug suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation last Thursday morning in Barangay Hawaiian, Silay City, Negros Occidental.

Authorities identified the suspects as 43-year-old Erwin Magalona of Barangay 2 Poblacion in Manapla town, and 59-year-old George Junsay of Barangay Santa Teresita, Manapla.

According to Silay City police, an undercover officer initially bought from the suspects a sachet of suspected shabu for P3,500.

Police recovered a total of 17 sachets of suspected shabu weighing 10 grams and valued at P68,000; P500 cash believed to be proceeds from illegal drug transactions; other drug paraphernalia; and a Nissan pickup.

The suspects were detained at the Silay City Police Station. Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, will be filed against them./WDJ
