Kabankalan City man survives shooting

A 33-year-old man survived an attempt to his life but sustained gunshot wounds after being shot by riding-in-tandem suspects around 6:00 p.m. on Sunday at Sitio San Juan in Barangay Camugao, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.

Jerry John Yap, a resident of the said village, sustained gunshot wounds on the abdomen and right side of his body. He was rushed to the Lorenzo Zayco District Hospital and later transferred to a hospital in Bacolod City.

Kabankalan City police investigation revealed that the unidentified suspects were riding a black motorcycle and the backrider shot the victim thrice.

The suspects fled after the incident.

Police are still investigating the case and looking into possible motives./WDJ
