A mother and her daughter died in a vehicular accident in Barangay Bolo, Maasin, Iloilo around 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Maasin police identified the victims as 33-year-old Dycel Malquerido and eight-year-old Daniel Jerica, both residents of the town’s Barangay Caigon.

Police investigation showed that the victims were onboard a cement mixer truck driven by Dycel’s husband, 39-year-old Joel Malquerido.

Upon reaching Barangay Bolo, Joel lost control of the truck. The mother and daughter then jumped out of the truck but the truck fell on them.

The victims died on the spot due to head and body injuries while Joel was injured./WDJ
