Two unidentified motorcycle-riding assassins shot a village captain in Barangay Malitbog, Calinog, Iloilo.

Julie Catamin, 49, of Barangay Roosevelt, Tapaz, Capiz succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

According to initial police investigation, Catamin was on his way home when attacked around 8:45 a.m. on Sunday.

According to reports, some members of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) went to Catamin’s house prior to the incident. It was known that Catamin posted on Facebook last year alleging that police planted evidence during the Dec. 30 synchronized raid of CIDG and the military.

As of this writing, officers of the Calinog municipal police station were still investigating the identity of the suspects and the motive in the shooting./WDJ
