Golden State gets back at San Antonio

Golden State Warriors (GSW) made a quick bounce back against San Antonio Spurs with a 114-91 victory in the 2020-2021 NBA Season on Tuesday night (Wednesday in the Philippines) at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Stephen Curry carried the offensive load with 32 points, including four triples, while Eric Paschall and Andrew Wiggins added 15 and 14 markers, respectively, as the Warriors improved to 13-12.

Kelly Oubre Jr. finished with double-double 12 points and 10 rebounds, Juan Toscano-Anderson and Damion Lee each had 11 markers for the GSW, which bounced back from a 105-100 loss to the Spurs a day ago.

From a 50-all score at the half, the Warriors surged to a 76-55 advantage on triples by Curry. The Spurs trimmed the deficit to 61-76 but eight straight points from Kent Bazemore upped GSW’s lead to 86-65.

The Spurs rallied to within 76-88 early in the fourth but the Warriors were quick to shut the door as conversions from Paschall, Toscano-Anderson and Brad Wanamaker increased the lead to 114-90.

Rudy Gay finished the match with 17 points, Trey Lyles added 15 markers, while Keldon Johnson and Patty Mills had 13 points each as the Spurs dropped to 14-11.

Meanwhile, Detroit Pistons (6-18) pulled off a stunning 122-111 triumph over the shorthanded and slumping Brooklyn Nets (14-12) at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.

Jerami Grant led the way with 32 points, Delon Wright added 22 markers and nine assists, while rookie Saddiq Bey and Mason Plumlee added 15 and 14 markers, respectively, for the Pistons.

In other results, Miami Heat (10-14) cruised to a 98-96 escape over New York Knicks (11-15), while New Orleans Pelicans (11-12) drub Houston Rockets (11-13), 130-101.
