Thirteen individuals were arrested for illegal gambling in Negros Occidental on Monday.
Police said, of the 13 arrested through arrest warrants, 10 were from Bago City, two was from Hinobaan and one from Manapla town.
Police identified the arrested in Bago City were Mark Anthony Flores, 36, of Purok Busay in Barangay Taloc; Rachel Filomino, 29, of Barangay Sampinit; Alfil Caparon, 25, of Barangay Efiginio in Talisay City who was arrested in Barangay Lag-asan, Bago City; Joan Montalbo, 33, of Purok Batad in Barangay Sampinit; Fredie Agustin, 46, of Purok Saging in Barangay Busay; Ladylee Sarmiento, 26, of Purok Batad in Barangay Sampinit; Gerald Agustin, 20, of Barangay Busay; Katherine Torre, 23, of Barangay Sampinit; and Enrique Apuhin, Jr., 58 and Rogelio Bantolinao, 57, all of Barangay Mailum, who were arrested in Barangay Busay.
Judge Aireen O. Bonghanoy of the MTCC Bago City issued their arrest warrant for violation of Presidential Decree (PD) 1602 dated January 15, 2021.
The court recommended P30,000 bail bond each for their temporary liberty.
In Manapla, 34-year-old Joel Repaso of Hacienda Dapdap in Barangay Tortos was caught through an arrest warrant issued by Judge Ranhel A. Perez of the 7th MCTC in E.B. Magalona.
Twenty nine-year-old Jose Mahinay, a bet collector from Purok Sampaguita in Barangay Talacagay, Hinobaan, was arrested through the strength of an arrest warrant issued by Judge Mary Ann Charisma C. Gutierrez-Kho of the Municipal Trial Court, while 35-year-old Wilmar Elmo of Zone 3 in Barangay Bacuyangan was nabbed for operating a slot-machine in the area.
The 13 arrested were detained at their respective police stations for proper disposition./WDJ
