Twenty-one police personnel across Western Visayas were dismissed last year for various administrative violations.

Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) records showed that a total of 130 cases were filed against 193 police personnel.

Out of the 130 cases, 124 were resolved involving 186 policemen. As a result, 21 were dismissed; six were demoted; 64 were suspended; two were punished with forfeiture of salary; and 10 were reprimanded.

Meanwhile, 82 of the charged cops were exonerated.

“We are serious in disciplining our erring police personnel but we are also quick to give recognition and acknowledgement for their good deeds,” said PRO-6 director, Police Brigadier General Rolando Miranda.

He vowed to continue an intensified internal cleansing to gain more trust of the community.

On the other hand, Miranda bared the PRO-6 and the Philippine National Police national headquarters were able to establish this year 11 standard municipal police stations in the region – six in Iloilo province, two in Antique, and one each in the provinces of Guimaras, Negros Occidental and Capiz.

Recently, the PRO-6 received a total of 44 new patrol vehicles distributed to the different municipal police stations./WDJ
