Ten sachets of suspected shabu were seized from three individuals following a buy-bust operation in Pototan, Iloilo’s Barangay San Jose Ward on January 7.

Police identified the arrested as 31-year-old Jessie Cartagena of Barangay Guadalupe, Janiuay, Iloilo; and 31-year-old Deemer Bornales and 15-year-old teen, both residents of Barangay Zamora, Iloilo City.

Pototan police said the suspects sold P30,100 worth of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer.

Police added that sometime in 2016 Bornales was arrested for illegal drugs while Cartagena was arrested in 2015, but both were released through plea bargaining agreement.

The suspects are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./WDJ
