Bacolod City and Negros Occidental have now over 100 hotels and tourism-related establishments accredited by the Department of Tourism (DOT).
Provincial Tourism Officer Jennylind Cordero said as of November 19, 82 tourism establishments have registered in Negros Occidental, while Bacolod City now has 32 establishments that have reopened.
Cordero said the tourism establishments consist of agri-farms, eco-tourism, travel and tours, museums, tourist transports, and accommodation establishments.
The provincial tourism officer also revealed that for the whole of Western Visayas, there are now a total 571 tourism-related establishments which have reopened.
Meanwhile, in response to the announcements of Don Salvador Benedicto town and Sipalay City allowing Christmas parties in their resorts, Cordero reminded the establishments to observe the health protocols imposed by the government such as allowing only 50 percent carrying capacity for venues, wearing of face masks and face shields, and observing proper physical distancing./DGB, WDJ
