Seventeen sachets of suspected shabu valued at P34,000 were seized in a drug buy-bust operation at Barangay Zone 2 in Negros Occidental’s Talisay City on Monday afternoon.

Talisay City Police Station acting chief, Police Major Jigger Gimeno, identified the suspect as 41-year-old Dean Frederick Abellar alias “Nonoy,” a resident of Barangay Mambulac, Silay City but temporarily residing in Barangay Zone 2, Talisay City.

Police confiscated 17 sachets of suspected shabu including the buy-bust item; P500 marked money; P1,200 cash; and other drug paraphernalia.

The suspect was detained at the Talisay City Police Station and charged in violation of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./WDJ
