Four individuals were arrested last Monday night for illegal gambling in Cabatuan, Iloilo’s Barangay Gaub.

Authorities identified the arrested suspects as 31-year-old Francis Castor of Lopez Jaena, Pototan, Iloilo; 22-year-old Kenneth Palmes of Barangay Bungsuan, Dumarao, Capiz; 47-year-old Larry Maderse of Barangay Duyan-duyan, Cabatuan; and 22-year-old Reynold Miro of Barangay Cadagmayan, Sta. Barbara, Iloilo.

Cabatuan police said the suspects were caught playing a card game.

Police recovered betting money amounting to P950 and set of playing cards.

The suspects are charged in violation of Presidential Decree No. 1602, signed in 1978 by then-President Ferdinand Marcos, which implemented stiffer penalties on illegal gambling./WDJ
