The Regional Inter-Agency Task Force in Western Visayas has extended until November 30 the moratorium on the return of locally stranded individuals (LSIs) to Cadiz City.

In Resolution No. 64 dated November 13, the RIATF said that the moratorium will give Cadiz City government sufficient time to prepare the city’s quarantine facilities before accommodating a new batch of LSIs.
The said resolution also imposed a similar travel suspension of LSIs bound for La Castellana from November 16 to 21 as requested by Mayor Rhumyla Nicor-Mangilimutan.
Cadiz City Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. earlier asked the RIATF for an LSI travel ban in early November until the 15th of this month.
In a statement, Escalante said he requested an extension because of the high cases of infection among frontliners and the need to disinfect and rehabilitate some portions of the city’s quarantine facilities at St. Andrew’s./DGB, WDJ
