Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson lauded the strategic steps of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in the fight against insurgency and criminality during the closing ceremony of the Workshop on the Coordinated Combat Operation Implementation of Joint Enhanced Military and Police Operation held in Bacolod City last Thursday.
The three-day workshop was participated in by police and military officers from regions 6, 7 and 8.
Negros Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer was also present in the activity, together with guests, Police Brigadier General Nickson Muksan, Deputy Director, DIPO (Director of Directorates for Integrated Police Operations) – Visayas, Colonel Inocencio Pasaporte, commander of the 303rd Infantry Brigade, and Negros Occidental Police Provincial Director, Colonel Romy Palgue.
“Today’s activity is proof that our forces intend not only to fight hard, but to fight smart. We are in a rare and historic time and we have to make use of everything at our disposal – knowledge, strategy and resources, and I am confident that we can make this work,” Lacson said.
“This a strategic step in our fight against insurgency, terrorism, narco-terrorism and criminality,” he added.
According to the governor, there is a need to do what is necessary to promote and keep peace and order and to safeguard national interest and security.
He also thanked the PNP and AFP for their selfless and courageous service, bravery and commitment./DGB, WDJ
