Talisay City Mayor Neil Lizares III has reconvened the city’s local Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the third time.

The reconvening aims to reassess the current situation and lay out the specific steps the city will undertake next as a strategic response to finally win the war against the unseen enemy which is the COVID-19, nine months into the pandemic.

The city has 16 active cases from a high of 599 infections.

Talisay City has done a good job in curbing the sudden upsurge of cases in September and now is posting a high recovery rate of 94%, totaling 562 patients already healed from the virus.

“But this is not the time to be complacent,” Lizares said.

Even with the numbers improving, we must continue to remain vigilant by practicing the minimum health and safety standards of the correct wearing of face masks and face shields, frequent handwashing, physical distancing and following staying-at-home protocols, Lizares emphasized.

“We thank our frontliners who continue to sacrifice and serve the people. As men and women-for-others, Talisay is truly grateful for your service,” the mayor added./DGB, WDJ
