The Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) have approved an estimated P118.1 million worth of projects and programs during the fourth quarter joint meeting at the Provincial Capitol Building in Bacolod City last Monday.
P87 million worth of programs, projects and activities were endorsed by the Provincial Development Council which would be added to the 2021 Supplemental Annual Investment Program.
Meanwhile, P31.1 million in various barangay infrastructure projects were also approved under the 2020 PAyapa at MAsaganang PamayaNan (PAMANA) Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP), which works under the Tripartite Agreement between the OPAPP, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), and the provincial government of Negros Occidental.
Among those who led the event were Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz, DILG-Negros Occidental officer-in-charge Evelyn Vista, and other council members.
Also in attendance were 303rd Infantry Brigade commander, Colonel Inocencio Pasaporte, and Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office director Police Colonel Romy Palgue.
Both Palgue and Pasaporte also presented their accomplishments on the province’s peace and order situation, while the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Negros Occidental gave updates on the drug-cleared barangays./DGB, WDJ
