According to Montelibano, he had no idea as to where exactly he might have gotten the virus, although he stated he had himself isolated when he was exposed to the bodyguard of Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, who had tested positive for Covid-19.

Montelibano said he had gotten his results on Thursday, September 24, and has experienced fever.

He further added that he has been waitlisted for admission to the Riverside Medical Center in Bacolod City, as the hospital’s designated Covid-19 beds are at full capacity.

Montelibano is the third local official in Negros Occidental to have fallen sick with the virus following Pontevedra Mayor Jose Maria Alonso and EB Magalona Mayor Marvin Malacon.

He further added everyone in his household will undergo reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction test./DGB, WDJ
