Negrense locally stranded individuals (LSIs) are set to arrive at the BREDCO Port in Bacolod City today, Provincial Incident Management Team head, Dr. Zeaphard Gerhart Caelian, said.

Caelian said the returning residents are part of the 245 LSIs who departed the port of Manila.

“We still have to finalize the passenger manifest so we will know who are from the different local government units in the province,” he said.

He added that they will have to notify the LGUs so they can be fetched at the port. The initial information they got is there are passengers who are from Bacolod City.

“Bacolod is under modified enhanced community quarantine that suspends the entry of inbound passengers,” he pointed out.

He added that Bacolod was not included in the National Inter-Agency Task Force (NIATF) resolution that partially lifted the moratorium of returning residents.

Earlier, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson assured LSIs in Manila that the provincial government is working on their return to the province.

This comes after the NIATF partially lifted the moratorium on the return of LSIs to Western Visayas.

The governor said that the province wants to send them food packs in Manila “but with the current situation it’s difficult.”/DGB, WDJ
