The municipality of Cauayan in Negros Occidental has declared a temporary ban on the entry of vacationers or leisure travelers as part of the locality’s ongoing efforts against the coronavirus disease, or Covid-19.
Based on the statement forwarded by the local government unit’s Municipal Information Office, residents returning home from any part of Negros Occidental must always carry a medical certificate and valid government-issued IDs.
If a resident came from areas classified as “hotzones” they are required to undergo Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) and if “reactive” they will immediately be brought to the town’s quarantine facility where they will stay for 14 days.
If “non-reactive” they will instead be placed on 14-day home quarantine.
Non-residents, meanwhile, whose purpose of travel to the town are either essential, official, or indispensable will be allowed to enter, but they are required to still carry a medical certificate, valid government ID, and should have prior coordination with the local barangays they are going./DGB, WDJ
