Following the passing of former University of Santo Tomas (UST) basketball coach Aric del Rosario, who died earlier this week from a cardiac arrest, Barangay Ginebra San Miguel head coach Tim Cone said he was devastated over the news. The late coach served as Cone’s assistant coach when he was at the helm of the Alaska Aces.
“It is crushing news to me, especially at this time when I cannot pay my respects to him and his family,” the coach said in a statement. “He always kept me grounded and taught me so much about humility.”
“The winning he accomplished at UST and the players he touched was unsurpassed,” he added. “His humility and low-key personality prevented him from being [in] that conversation of the best coaches of the country; he was incredibly underrated.”
