A 42-year-old man was hospitalized Wednesday night after he was reportedly shot near his home in Bacolod City’s Barangay Vista Alegre. Police identified the victim as Romeo Dorimon, a resident of the neighborhood’s Purok Angela Hills.

Based on investigations carried out by Police Station 7 (PS7), the gunman, identified as 35-year-old Jimboy Lantape, broke into Dorimon’s home looking for a certain ‘Gelo.’ When the suspect was unable to locate the individual, he diverted his attention to the victim, who was sitting on the sidewalk, and shot him in the right leg.

The suspect immediately fled while the victim was rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Police are now conducting a follow-up operation against the suspect./DGB, WDJ
