The Negros Occidental provincial government is currently preparing 25,000 food packs, which provincial administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, said are primarily intended for those affected by work stoppage, particularly in the public transportation sector. Afterwards, they will be distributed to low-income households and beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, or 4Ps.
The provincial official explained the packs will be distributed once local government units run out wherein they will deliver their packs to the local government units and barangays.
“If it is not enough, we will step in,” he added.
Meanwhile, Diaz also said P1 million worth of rice assistance for the province’s 31 localities is currently being processed./DGB, WDJ
