The decomposed body of an eight-year-old girl, who went missing about three weeks ago, were found yesterday in a sugarcane plantation by cane cutters at Hacienda Palma in Ilog’s Barangay Andulauan.

Ilog municipal police chief, Police Major John Ganzon, said, based on their investigation, they suspect the victim was raped as her underwear were placed beside her alongside slippers.

The law enforcement official said the girl, a resident of Kabankalan City’s Barangay 1, was declared missing by her parents on March 7.

He said they are now establishing information that will identify the suspect, which will lead to their eventual arrest.

Meanwhile, the remains will be subject to an autopsy in order to determine if she was indeed raped as well as identifying the cause of death./DGB
