Despite the Philippine Super Liga (PSL) earlier cancelling the ongoing 2020 PSL Grand Prix due to ongoing concerns surrounding the coronavirus disease, or Covid-19, the Chery Tiggo Crossovers announced the addition of Jaja Santiago and Dindin Santiago Manabat to their squad.
However, Santiago will not be immediately available as the other team she players for, Ageo Medics of Japan’s V.League 1, is expected to participate in a tournament in May.
“Kasi ang liga lang naman namin ng May is one week (In May, V.League 1runs for one week),” the middle blockr told Spin.ph. “Start ng May 1 eh ang second round ng PSL parang second week so malamang nandito na kami (The second round of the PSL begins on May and I will likely be here then).”
Santiago also discussed her future plans in Japan.
“Tinanong na nila yung agent ko na pilitin ako na maglaro ako for third season (The team asked my agent if they could convince me to play a third season),” she said. “Sabi ko naman sa Ageo na if ever babalik ako ng Japan ulit (I said, if I ever return to Japan, I would stay with Ageo Medics).”
Meanwhile, for Santiago Manabat, her contract in Japan already lapsed./ASC, WDJ
