Negrense sprinter Hannah Jandra Delotavo is set to formalize her commitment to De La Salle University (DLSU).
“I am very grateful for the opportunity na binigay sa akin ng DLSU (I am very grateful for the opportunity DLSU is giving me),” the Silay City native said. “Una dream ko lang naman itong makalaro sa isang team tulad ng DLSU but now it’s happening (It has been my dream to play for a team like DLSU and, now, it’s happening).”
“I am looking forward to learn more sa DLSU kasi I know na marami pa akong kailangang iimprove sa aking sarili (I am looking forward to learning more at DLSU since I know there is a lot I need to improve with myself),” she added. “I am hoping na makakacontribute ako sa team because I am excited to wear the green and white (I hope to contribute to the team and am excited to wear the green and white).”
Delotavo also expressed her appreciation for those who supported her.
“I really worked hard for this and this wouldn’t be possible without the help of my coaches, family, and, of course, sir Jose Montalbo,” she said. “I am looking forward to my first UAAP competition.”
While competing for Bacolod Tay Tung High School, she won gold medals at various competitions in the 100, 200, and 400-meter dash. She also won medals representing Negros Occidental at the National Private Schools Athletic Association Meet and Milo Little Olympics./ASC, WDJ
