Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson yesterday clarified there are no laboratory results yet for the 74-year-old who died in San Carlos City while under investigation for the coronavirus disease, or Covid-19. The governor said test results from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine have not yet arrived.
The patient, who had no travel history and was admitted to the San Carlos City Hospital on March 19 after exhibiting chest pains and had a history of heart problems, died last Friday.
Lacson made the clarification after the Regional Risk Reduction Management Council released data on Covid-19 showing one mortality in Negros Occidental.
“As far as data on patients under investigation are concerned, I think the Provincial Health Office report is more accurate because it directly came from the barangays,” the governor explained.
He added, Negros Occidental has recorded 29 patients under investigation with 23 already released and six remaining at the hospital./DGB, WDJ
