Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson called on mayors in the province to establish quarantine facilities for persons under monitoring for the coronavirus disease or Covid-19. According to a memorandum, the governor ordered mayors to have a facility erected within five days of receiving the memorandum.
In absence of a quarantine area, Lacson said mayors may enter into a memorandum of agreement with their local school supervisor to use classroom buildings as quarantine facilities.
The order also established the provincial government-owned Mambukal Mountain Resort in Murcia as the provincial government’s quarantine facility.
Meanwhile, in a separate memorandum, the governor designated the Cadiz District Hospital as the Negros Occidental Covid-19 Center.
He added, all persons under investigation and those who test positive for Covid-19, along with mild and moderate cases, will be “immediately referred to this hospital where they shall receive proper treatment until they are fit [for] discharge.”
He added, serious cases will be referred to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital in Bacolod City./DGB, WDJ
