Three players from the Western Visayas were among the top 24 National Basketball Training Center (NBTC) high school players. Ilonggo players Gerry Abadiano and Ian Espinosa ranked 12 and 14, respectively; while Negrense player Reyland Torres came in 24th.
Abadiano and Torres both play for Nazareth School of National University, while Espinosa plays with Ateneo de Manila University.
Due to ongoing concerns surrounding the coronavirus, the NBTC national finals, along with the All-Star Game, was postponed and tentatively rescheduled from April 20 to 26./ASC, WDJ
