The Civil Service Commission (CSC)-Aklan Field Officer Director II Leo Jamorin urged heads of national government agencies and local government units (LGUs) in Aklan to explain to their respective employees and the public of their alternative work arrangements while the province is implementing the community quarantine to stop the spread of the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (Covid-19).
Jamorin said the alternative work arrangements will depend on the different government agencies which include skeletal workforce, work from home, compressed workweek and staggered working hours.
The set-up will last until the imposed community quarantine is lifted, according to him.
Jamorin also revealed that on Friday their office at the Aklan State University (ASU) Kalibo Campus was closed for disinfection. This is for the protection not only of the CSC-Aklan employees but of their clients visiting their office.
Meanwhile, several offices in the province of Aklan have put in place the work schedules of their staff or personnel.
The Provincial Government of Aklan will employ the skeletal workforce scheme from March 23 to April 17, 2020, where an employee will only report for five straight days in a week from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.
The same arrangements will also apply to casual employees and job orders.
The Metro Kalibo Water District (MKWD) will be on a four-day work week, wherein they have to render 10 hours of work per day.
The Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), on the other hand, has posted a notice on its office door at the 2nd floor of the Provincial Capitol Annex Building, that the lawyers are currently working from home due to Covid-19 until further notice.
However, for urgent concerns of indigent clients who cannot afford to pay private lawyers regarding bails, discharge from prison, inquest proceedings and for discharge or admittance to hospitals, the PAO lawyers provided their contact numbers on the same posted notice. (PIA6 Aklan)
