Bonuses sought for city employees

In response to ongoing concerns surrounding the coronavirus disease, or Covid-19, the Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod recently passed a resolution declaring the city under a State of Calamity. According to data released by the City Health Office (CHO) yesterday, there are currently 12 patients under investigation who are admitted at hospitals across the city.
The CHO noted, seven of the said patients are awaiting test results while the rest have yet to be tested due to swabs being unavailable at the moment. Overall, the CHO said all the patients are currently in stable condition.
Meanwhile, the resolution, which was authored by City Councilor Renecito Novero, sought the release of midyear bonuses for city employees.
“Our government employees and workers need available finances in order to purchase their necessities,” the city official insisted.
He added, the declaration was made due to “economic dislocation and distresses.”/DGB, WDJ
