In an effort to prevent and control the coronavirus disease, or Covid-19, the Pulupandan municipal government recently released their rules and regulations. According to an executive order issued by Mayor Miguel Antonio Peña, all transport terminals in the town are required to have a sanitizing area where drivers and conductors are mandated to observe proper hygiene.
They were also ordered to wash their hands frequently prior to trips.
In addition, anybody exhibiting Covid-19 symptoms will not be allowed to enter terminals.
Passengers will also be required to wear facemasks and observe social distancing wherein they must sit one seat apart. For public utility vehicles, they will not be allowed to exceed half of their regular seating capacity.
The mayor also met with representatives from the religious sector and agreed that religious services and assemblies will be temporarily suspended until further notice.
Meanwhile, transient market peddlers and vendors from other localities will be barred from entering the public market on market day, which falls on every Monday. In addition, all public market vendors, shopkeepers, and food handlers will be required to submit themselves to regular thermo scanning and doctor consultations.
They are also required to secure a weekly medical clearance.
All food handlers, including those selling meat, fish, poultry, fruits, and vegetables, will be required to wear either a spit guard or face mask when preparing or serving food.
An age bracket system for market hours has also been adopted with those aged 55 and above permitted to buy supplies from 5:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., while those aged 54 and below can make purchases from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Additionally, restaurants, bakeries, and coffee shops will be limited to take out orders; while business establishments such as gaming parlors, computer gaming shops, and karaoke bars were deemed “non-essential” and their operations were temporarily suspended./DGB, WDJ
