Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia issued an advisory last Wednesday to local malls amid ongoing concerns surrounding the coronavirus disease, or Covid-19, regarding adjustments to operating hours and staffing recommendations.
The advisory suggested the said establishments reduce their operating hours or temporarily close, either fully or partially. They were also advised to operate with a skeleton crew, or a minimal number of personnel, primarily composed of Bacolod City residents as a means of complying by imposed community quarantine measures.
However, the advisory did note certain businesses must remain open including drug stores and pharmacies, supermarkets and grocery stores, medical clinics and laboratories, government offices, banks, bakeries, and convenience stores.
The said establishments were given until today, March 20, to inform the city government of their plans./WDJ

Bacolod City officials recently met at the Bacolod City Government Center to discuss the ongoing situation regarding the coronavirus. Among the issues raised was informing local malls of various strategies to implement to reduce the risk of exposure to the virus. (Bacolod City PIO photo)
