DOH-6: There is a global shortage

Hospitals across the Western Visayas, particularly in Iloilo, continue to face equipment shortages, including masks and personal protective equipment, amid ongoing concerns surrounding the coronavirus disease, or Covid-19. In response, Department of Health-Region VI (DOH-6) focal person on Covid-19, Dr. Jane Juanico, said there is a “global shortage.”
“May mga request gid kita from our hospitals (We received the requests from hospitals),” she explained. “As of now, wala na gid kita sang may mapapanaog pa (As of now, we have not yet received additional supplies).”
DOH-6 said they are hoping for donations.
“Tani may mga donors nga ma-donate sa amon (There should be doctors to donate to us),” Juanico added.
She also encouraged the medical sector to be innovative.
“Subong naga-innovate kita sang mga materials, improvised kita sang mga pwede naton magamit nga protective gears naton (Right now, we should be innovative and improvise with materials that can be used as protective gear),” the DOH-6 official added./WDJ
