The PBA announced 14 teams are set to compete in the inaugural PBA 3×3 basketball tournament.
“All 12 [PBA teams] will participate in the 3×3, along with two other teams,” explained PBA Board Vice Chairman Bobby Rosales. “These teams will be divided into two groups of seven [and] there will be a total of 42 elimination games and 14 playoff games per conference.”
“Both the semifinals and finals will be [in] a best-of-three series,” he added. “We intend to put up pot money, which we still have to determine, for the winning teams.”
Games will be played on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in between the scheduled doubleheaders scheduled for the day.
Meanwhile, PBA Commissioner Willie Marcial said the tournament will be a stand-alone meet similar to the PBA D-League./ASC, WDJ
