Bacolod Tay Tung High School swept the 4th Mayor Alonso Volleyball Cup over the weekend at the Pontevedra Municipal Gym. Bacolod City-based school defeated Trinity Christian School, 40-38; Pontevedra, 40-29; Negros Occidental High School, 40-15; and Hinigaran, 40-15.
The Tay Tung squad included Franchesca Ana Hermosura, Jothea Mae Pugal Ramos, Anthea Nishart Galicia, Amber Lily Biong, Maria Ysabelle Jalea, Sandy Sta. Rita, Patricia Grace Hiponia, Charlene Tayapad, Erica Nacional, and Jihan Isabelle Chuatico.
“Participating here, our (developmental team) [has] gained so much experience,” said Tay Tung team manager Jose Montalbo. “The experience playing here will be helpful as they prepare to represent Bacolod City in Batang Pinoy.”/ASC, WDJ
