Iloilo City Health Office (CHO) health education and promotion officer Yanie Rose Noble Tuazon hosted a therapeutic art workshop last week at Iloilo City National High School, where 30 students used art to express emotions.
“The workshop was a combination of creating forms and drawing creativity out of students [and], at the same time, therapeutic arts,” she explained. “One of our advocacies [at] CHO is to use art in order to make our young people more mentally resilient.”
The event was part of Mayor Jerry P. Treñas’ initiative to promote art appreciation and awareness.
It also served as a prelude to the Iloilo Summer Arts Festival, which will take place across the city from April 3 to May 17./WDJ
