Governor: Women in
Negros are empowered
In observance of National Women’s Month, which is celebrated throughout March, Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson declared, “Women in Negros are empowered.”
The governor pointed out, “Women employees outnumber men working at the provincial government.
“It is a challenge [for] them,” he added. “The services of the provincial government are [in] their hands.”
Meanwhile, Lacson said the provincial government will provide programs to uplift women in the province.
“Women have come a long way; from being very timid and [living up to the] stereotype of only [being] good for the home,” he noted. “The contribution [by] women in society is now very valuable for any province.”
In addition, he also encouraged more women to get involved in politics./DGB, WDJ
