At least 16 people were arrested Tuesday afternoon after operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and Philippine National Police Maritime Group raided a suspected drug den at Purok Tunga in San Carlos City’s Barangay 6.
Authorities identified the arrested as Elmar Bartolin, Carlos Caballero, Marissa Flora, Ryan Canio, Edgie Boy Barbadillo, Laslie Bartolin, Charles Ian Anonas, John Mark Abarquez, Dexter Sibuyan, Cecil Guaycangco, George Casigan, John Jil Recero, Nino Kim Bartolin, Gerry Mangayao, and Rolito Ochin.
In addition, a minor was also nabbed in the operation. Police have requested anonymity for the minor.
Based on information provided by PDEA, they confiscated a total of 20 sachets of suspected shabu worth at least P240,000, along with drug paraphernalia.
The arrested suspects face illegal drugs charges and are currently detained at the San Carlos City Police Station, while the minor was turned over to the city’s social welfare office./DGB, WDJ
