One person was killed when a motorcycle struck a 10-wheeler cargo truck Monday morning at Sitio Nato in Himamaylan City’s Barangay Aguisan. Authorities identified the fatality as 23-year-old Jeremias Castillon Blanco, Jr. of the city’s Barangay 3.
According to police, after a motorcycle being operated by 29-year-old Joliza Rey Blanco was struck by a truck being driven by 21-year-old Ryan Mamac, the younger Blanco, who was back-riding on the motorcycle, was run over by the truck.
The pair aboard the motorcycle were rushed to the Gov. Valeriano M. Gatuslao Memorial Hospital where the backrider was declared dead-on-arrival.
Mamac is currently detained at the Himamaylan City Police Station.
Last month, one person was killed, while three others were injured, following an incident between two motorcycles along the national highway in Himamaylan City’s Barangay II. Authorities identified the fatality as Bernie Berde Pido of Binalbagan’s Barangay San Jose.
According to police, a motorcycle being operated by Aser Nequia Jugos of the city’s Barangay Mambagaton was attempting to pass another motorcycle, which was being operated by Chrismar Longno with Christine Joy Navarro and Pido as backriders. As a result, those aboard Longno’s motorcycle fell to the ground, which also injured Joemaries Claud, a bystander./WDJ
