Kami ang Mabulig sa Inyo Saligan Utod Ninyo sa Oras sang Ital-Ital Inc. (KAMI SUNOI), a Binalbagan-based organization, was recently awarded the Gawad Kalasag, the country’s premier annual awards for outstanding contributions in the fields of disaster risk reduction and management and humanitarian assistance.
The group was named Best People’s Organization and awarded a plaque and P300,000 cash incentive.
KAMI SUNOI presented the award to Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson at the Provincial Capitol during a recent courtesy visit.
While at the Capitol, the group also signed a memorandum of agreement with the Office of the Civil Defense for the utilization of the said incentive./WDJ
