Fire razes three homes in Iloilo City

Three homes were razed, while another two were partially damaged, yesterday in Barangay Concepcion, located in Iloilo City’s City Proper district. Officials report, the homes owned by Lilia Domingo, Patrick Laurente, and Asarenas Jaca were burned down; while houses owned by Odel Obela and Eduardo Dela Cruz sustained partial damage.
According to Iloilo City fire marshal, Chief Inspector Melania Habawel, the local Bureau of Fire Protection received the fire call at 5:45 a.m. She said the fire started in Domingo’s house and quickly spread to neighboring homes.
The fire official explained, according to investigators, the cause of the fire was a short circuit.
The total cost of damage has yet to be determined.
Meanwhile, Habawel reminded local residents to be careful and always check electrical wires to avoid similar incidents. She said, when leaving the house, make sure to turn off all their electrical appliances./WDJ
