Negrense athletes continue to win gold at national taekwondo competition

Negrense taekwondo athletes recently won more gold medals at the 2020 Smart/MVP Sports Foundation/PLDT Home Ultera National Carlos Palanca, Jr. Taekwondo Championships at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall in Pasay City.
In the poomsae division, which is comprised of basic attack and defense motions associated with the martial art, Jamie Hannah Agaloos of Negros Taekwondo Union-Tigers New Gen won silver in the 17-and-under freestyle and bronze in the junior women’s competition while Ceanne Kyle Rosquillo won bronze in the senior men’s event.
Meanwhile, Marielle Aimee Beronio won silver in the cadet girls’ lightweight category and Miguel Zapata captured bronze in the cadet boys’ flyweight division.
Earlier, Leigh Andee Rodriguez of the Negros Taekwondo Union-Tigers New Gen won in the junior women’s finweight division, while Beatriz Zapata won the gradeschool individual event and Dims Diaz took the freestyle competition in the poomsae competition./ASC, WDJ
