Iloilo faces Basilan

The Iloilo United Royals are set to meet the Basilan Steel in the first round of the 2019/2020 Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League Lakan Cup playoffs, which kicks off next week. Game 1 of the best-of-three series will take place on Wednesday, February 19, at the Strike Gym in Bacoor City.
“We will try our best,” said Royals team owner JJ Javelosa. “Our last defeat to the Bacoor Strikers was not good so the team started preparations early.”
The two sides met last August where Iloilo fell 78-74 to Basilan despite leading by double digits early in the game.
Meanwhile, the team owner touted the recent addition of center Frank Golla.
“Frank is in our original lineup and he finally got his release from TNT KaTropa,” Javelosa said. “He will be a big help for the team because he is a big man who can shoot from the outside.”
