The Department of Education-Region VI (DepEd-6) has tentatively scheduled the 2020 Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet from March 21 to 28 in Makato, Aklan. The event was initially scheduled to run from February 15 to 22 but was postponed due to ongoing concerns surrounding the 2019 novel coronavirus.
DepEd-Negros Occidental sports coordinator Romeo Sison said the region’s 20 schools divisions agreed to the rescheduling.
The provincial official encouraged student-athletes to return to their respective schools and resume classes.
“They are still encouraged to continue their training at their schools and wait for further information regarding the conduct of the meet,” he added./ASC, WDJ
