Iloilo City Sports Academy underway

This year’s Iloilo City Sports Academy, which features nine sports and other events for youth players between the ages of five and 15, is underway at venues across the city.
Several events will be played from Monday to Friday.
Arnis will be held at the Graciano Lopez Jaena Elementary School Uswag Court from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; boxing at Barangay San Rafael in the city’s Mandurriao district from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; chess at Jaro II Elementary School from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.; futsal at the Iloilo City High School gym from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.; lawn tennis at the La Paz Plaza tennis court from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.; taekwondo at the Jaro Plaza from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; and volleyball at the La Paz volleyball court with beginners participating from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and the advanced level from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Meanwhile, football will be played at the La Paz football field on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; and table tennis will take place at the Iloilo City Diamond Jubilee Hall on on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
“Our aim is to have a pool of players to compete and to carry the name of our beloved city,” said Executive Assistant for Sports Rudiver Jungco, Sr. “We want to see [the] progress of trainings.”/WDJ
