Farm laborer arrested for discharging firearm

A farm laborer was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly discharged a firearm at Hacienda Najalinan in La Castellana’s Barangay Robles. Police identified the suspect as 40-year-old Bonifacio Amacio, a native of Libertad, Antique.
Based on information provided by the La Castellana Municipal Police Station, prior to the incident, the suspect, together with several others, were drinking inside the workers’ quarters.
Amacio, who was inebriated at the time, then reportedly pulled out an improvised .22 caliber revolver and discharged his weapons several times. The suspect was immediately pacified by several people, who immediately contacted authorities.
Police recovered the suspect’s firearm, including five live units of ammunition. They also found two empty .22 caliber shells at the crime scene.
Amacio faces charges for illegal possession of firearms and is detained at the La Castellana Municipal Police Station./DGB, WDJ
